Counselor Events

UMaine offers a number of counselor events throughout the year. Check out when and where.

Application Review Days

UMaine works collaboratively with selected high schools in Maine to provide an opportunity for students to discuss their applications for admission with an admissions counselor.  These days typically take place in November and early December and are designed for high school seniors. Students who request to participate in the application review day will be assigned a specific appointment time to meet with a UMaine admissions counselor by their guidance office. In addition to reviewing the application, these days provide an excellent opportunity for students to ask any questions they may have about the admissions process or the University of Maine.

UMaine is pleased to work with community colleges to provide individual appointments for transfer students, on their home campuses, to meet with a UMaine admissions counselor to discuss their academic work to date. The admissions counselor will also provide advising with respect to transfer credit and the transfer admissions process. Transfer students should contact their community college transfer advising office to be assigned a specific appointment time to meet with a UMaine admissions counselor.

High School Junior Transcript Review Days

UMaine works collaboratively with selected high schools to provide an opportunity for high school juniors to discuss their academic record with an admissions counselor.  This provides an excellent opportunity to start preparing for their senior year college application process. These days typically take place in April and May.   Students who request to participate in the transcript review day will be assigned a specific appointment time to meet with a UMaine admissions counselor by their guidance office. In addition to reviewing the students’ academic records, these days provide an excellent opportunity for students to ask any questions they may have about the admissions process or the University of Maine. Currently there are no Junior Transcript Review Days scheduled, please check back in the spring for updated information.
