Overview

Hearty Maine Hello and welcome to the Fall Welcome Weekend 2016 information page. This program is for all new first-year and transfer students starting in the Fall 2016 semester. You do not need to pre-register for this event, but be sure to stop by the Memorial Union to receive the most up to date Fall Welcome Weekend schedule between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Friday August 26th. Outdoor Orientation Trips

UMaine’s outdoor orientation trips, OPTIONS, occurs three days before Fall Welcome Weekend, August 24-26, 2016.  OPTIONS trips will focus on teaching you outdoor skills and helping you prepare for your upcoming college experience by meeting awesome new people, making lasting friendships, and learning about University life from experienced UMaine students and staff. New students explore Maine with student trip leaders from the Maine Bound Adventure Center.  The experience begins and ends on campus and time in between will be spend in the great Maine outdoors.  Click here for more info or call the Maine Bound Adventure Center at 207.581.1794.

New Commuters Welcome Day

All new commuter students are invited to attend the New Commuters Welcome Day on Thursday, August 25th, 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the Memorial Union.  To view the schedule, visit the Commuter and Non-Traditional Student Programs website.  For more information, please call the Commuter and Non-Traditional Student Programs office at 207.581.1734.

Maine Hello Residence Hall Move-In

All new first-year and transfer students living on-campus move in on Friday, August 26th.  Please refer to the Maine Hello Info and Schedule to plan your residence hall move-in.  For more information, please call the First Year Center at 207.581.1420.

New Student Orientation Meetings

For students who were unable to attend a Summer Orientation session, please review the Enrollment Checklist. There will be New Student Orientation Meetings on Friday, August 26th from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. every hour on the hour in the Memorial Union.

Family members are welcome to accompany their students to help them settle into their new homes and participate in some of the events planned on the first day of Fall Welcome Weekend on Friday, August 26th.
