Financial Aid and Scholarships
Applying for financial aid:
Transfers are encouraged to submit their Federal Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or add UMaine to their FAFSA at the same time they submit their application to transfer to UMaine. The UMaine code is 002053. A new FAFSA is required for each academic year. Having the FAFSA information on file at UMaine when an admission decision is made, allows for faster review for a financial aid award. For Transfers applying for fall admission, the on-time date for filing the FAFSA is June 1. Spring applicants should update their FAFSA with the UMaine code at the time they submit their application. For more information, please visit the Office of Student Financial Aid website.
Scholarships:
Incoming transfer students are automatically considered for scholarships at the time of admission to UMaine. Typically, merit scholarship awards are included with the letter of acceptance, although some scholarships may be awarded after the admission process is complete. For fall applicants, first priority is given to transfers who apply by June 1. Students submitting their application after June 1 will be considered while funds are available. For spring applicants, first priority is given to transfers who apply by January 1st. For details please visit the scholarship page.
