Anthropology

The Anthropology Department has several active laboratories in which students can become involved. These include Zooarchaeology and the analysis of animal bones from the archaeological record; Northeastern Prehistory and the analysis of remains from prehistoric cultures in the Northeast; Central and South American archaeology, where researchers analyze prehistoric and historic remains from archaeological sites in Peru and Belize; and Physical Anthropology, where students are exposed to the latest techniques in human osteology and forensic anthropology. The department also regularly offers summer field programs locally and internationally in archaeology and ethnography.
