With the business information systems and security management (BISSM) major, students are prepared to assist businesses in their use of technology to enhance processes, facilitate better management decision making and protect information assets. Students will learn how to apply systems and analytical thinking to solve problems using technology strategically for competitive advantage and how to secure computer networks and information systems.

The Maine Business School prepares students for working in the rapidly growing field of information systems and security management. The program’s learning strategy is focused on career readiness, academic rigor, and job placement. Students majoring in BISSM will be prepared to work in the fields of database management and security, designing information systems with security in mind, and information security incident management. Students will also have the opportunity to learn business analytics, a rapidly growing and well-paid field of data science.
