Sport Management
Maine Business School
The sport management major prepares students with the practical experience and academic foundation necessary to succeed in the sport industry. Sport Management, or the business side of sport, is one of the most exciting, interesting, and fun pathways a student can take as it combines a traditional business education with the excitement of the sport industry-specific courses.
Marketing is a fast-paced program that prepares students for a distinct aspect of the business world. This program will get students ready for various positions in e-commerce, digital marketing, services marketing, sales, advertising, marketing research, retail management, and international marketing. Students also develop essential business skills such as teamwork, professional presentation, effective communication, and leadership. Many of our Marketing students double major here in the Maine Business School.
At UMaine, learning isn’t confined to the classroom. In fact, that’s only the beginning. Many marketing courses emphasize learning by doing. Marketing students work with local businesses and organizations on projects that offer real-world hands-on experience. Many classes also incorporate computer-based simulations that stimulate learning through gameplay. Outside of the classroom, marketing students have the opportunity to join the American Marketing Association, one of the eight business school student organizations.
