In-State Tuition for Veterans and Dependents
The University of Maine System offers the in-state tuition rate to eligible veterans, service members, and their dependents who are applying for admission to undergraduate degree or certificate programs and are not Maine residents.
Eligibility & Documentation
To qualify, undergraduate applicants should submit the required documentation (listed below) to the Office of Admissions, 5713 Chadbourne Hall, Orono, ME 04469-5713 or um.adm.processing@maine.edu soon after submitting their application.

| Veterans & Active Service Members | All honorably discharged Veterans or current members of the U.S. Armed Forces (Active Duty, Guard, Reserve). | DD-214 (showing honorable discharge) OR U.S. Military ID card OR Certificate of Eligibility (COE, current or expired) OR Letter from squadron commander (current service). | 
| Dependents | Dependents must be eligible for a GI Bill® benefit. You must actively utilize the benefit during your first semester to qualify. | Certificate of Eligibility (COE) for Transferred Post-9/11 GI Bill (Chapter 33) OR Dependents Educational Assistance (Chapter 35). |
