UMaine is proud to work with Housatonic Community College to encourage HCC students to consider continuing their education by earning a bachelor’s degree at UMaine.

Below are programs supported by UMaine and Housatonic Community College that are available to Housatonic students.  For details about each transfer program, click on the link provided.

AS in Pre-Nutrition to BS in Food Science and Human Nutrition – Human Nutrition and Dietetics Concentration

UMaine’s BS in Food Science and Nutrition with the concentration in Human Nutrition and Dietetics is an accredited Didactic Program in Nutrition and Dietetics (DPD) by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND). The program focuses on the study of the effect of food, food behavior and nutrients on people’s health and the role of diet in prevention or treatment of chronic disease. Students in this program are eligible for continuing education and internship to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist. Or, they can pursue careers in wellness nutrition, health or research.
